Polytheist religions include deities well outside the ‘love and light’ stereotype, and they’re typically demonized in fantasy fiction. In reality they’re far more nuanced. We’ll explore the myths and roles of Gods like Kali, Set, Sekhmet, Anubis, and The Morrigan, and talk about why a character might align with them. Which authors have done a better job with this? How can we use this to make our stories and worldbuilding more interesting?
